iMATHination Special Session Spotlight

College and Career Ready-making


The iMATHination Conference team in a joint effort with AAR Corp. presents a discussion-to- action session that will focus on steps that need to be taken, and those currently being taken, to support students in developing STEM college and career readiness skills -- those necessary to function and compete in this global environment.  Greg Dellinger from AAR Corp. will lead an interactive discussion with panelists from the classroom, higher education and the corporate world that will include audience Q & A.
Panelists include: Diane Briars, Ph.D. (NCTM), Tammera Holmes (AeroStar Consulting Corp.), Karen Lindebrekke (iBIO Institute Educate Center), Ellen Casey (CPS), Jeffrey Mikula (CPS), Stephanie Levi, Ph.D. and Roxana Hadad (CTC@NEIU).

Greg Dellinger is the Director of Recruiting for AAR CORP. (NYSE: AIR), a leading provider of diverse products and services to the worldwide commercial aviation and government/defense industries.  Having grown up on approach to the O’Hare field in Chicago, Illinois, and Naval Air Station Glenview, Greg has had a lifelong passion for aviation.  Greg joined AAR CORP. from leading international entertainment and media enterprise, The Walt Disney Company.

Dellinger did his undergraduate work at the University of Illinois.  Recognized for implementing recruiting efficiency strategies within Human Resources, Dellinger is passionate about STEM education, youth development, and leadership.  Greg is active in The Blackstar Project, Chicago Youth Centers, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, JROTC, Civil Air Patrol, and the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps.  Dellinger is a past Ricky Byrdsong Award Finalist and has won the WE CARE Role Model Award from the Chicago Police Department.  Greg is married with 4 children.

iMATHination 2014 Saturday Keynote

Tammera L. Holmes



Tammera Holmes is President and CEO of AeroStar Consulting Corporation, a professional aviation consulting and support services company.  Through her company, she conducts aviation exploration workshops, leadership training and mentoring in the K-12 setting through her Aviation Academic Initiative and Aerostars Aviation Exploration Apprenticeship program.  A primary focus of Aerostars is to introduce students to careers in aviation as well as provide a support system to post-secondary students seeking aviation-related licenses, certifications and degrees through innovative STEM curriculum, internships, mentoring and after school programs such as After School Matters.

Ms. Holmes has worked as a business manager, project administrator and aviation consultant with Landrum and Brown for its Chicago office.  Notable projects that she has worked on include: Green Airport Initiatives, Clean Construction Bid Specifications for the O'Hare Modernization Program (OMP), FAA Guidance for the Voluntary Airport Low Emissions Program, O'Hare and Midway School Noise Abatement Programs and the FAA Environmental Impact Statement for OMP.  She has also worked on environmental mitigation research for OMP for wetlands, noise abatement, energy supply, natural resources, hazardous materials and emissions.

Ms. Holmes is the recipient of the 2011 Bessie Coleman Legacy Foundation "Fly Sister Fly" Distinction Award, was After School Matters Instructor of the Month in November 2012 and honored as one of the City of Chicago's Dynamic Women in Aviation in 2005.  She holds a  B.S. degree in Aviation Management from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and is pursuing her M.S. in Management at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
